THE FESTIVAL CHALON DANS LA RUE IN A FEW WORDS
Chalon dans la rue festival is an essential reference for creation in public spaces, a festive and intense moment of shared culture. Every year for more than 30 years, 130 to 150 french and international companies take over Chalon-sur-Saône and turn the city into a monumental urban stage.
The programme offers : l' Aube de la création, an IN Selection (= la Sélection IN), an Off Selection (= la Sélection OFF).
Launched in 2020, l’ Aube de la création is a program for artistic discovery and support for creation in public spaces offered by the Chalon dans la rue festival.
No form, no discipline is privileged.
The historical companies mingle with the younger ones, the street arts with the digital arts, the performing arts. Some creations question society, while others play the noctambules, circumvent “formatted formats”, propose other temporalities or follow more classical paths.
The city becomes, for 5 days, a vast field of expression where imagine new modes of dialogue between artists, city, creations and public.
