The companies in the Sélection Off can perform in public spaces, in the city, or in a convivial venue (a space entrusted to a collective of companies or cultural associations).
There are therefore 2 calls for applications for the Sélection Off: the call for applications for companies / the call for applications for Festive venues.
The call for applications from companies is used to select the artistic proposals that will be presented at the festival. All companies wishing to perform in the Sélection Off must apply, whether they are playing in town or in a Festive venue.
The call for applications for the Festive venues is used to select the overall project for the venue.

The Sélection Off offers a rich and abundant panorama of creation in public spaces. It's part of the festival's overall narrative, giving it some of its colour and atmosphere. It's a rich and varied selection that unfolds across the city.
The companies are selected by a committee that pays particular attention to:
- the diversity of aesthetics, plurality of disciplines, balance and representativeness in the proposals (gender, discipline, geographical origin, maturity / emergence and parity of the teams...)
- promotion of recent creations in the street arts scene. The shows presented must have been created between 2021 and 2026.
The companies in the Sélection Off produce their own shows. Taking part in the festival gives them real visibility and an opportunity to present their creations to audiences and programmers (more than 1000 professionals welcomed in 2025). Aware of these challenges, the festival seeks to offer companies the most appropriate setting for their artistic projects, so that the playing conditions are optimal. The choice and support of artistic projects are fundamental to Chalon dans la rue.

Sending by email or postal mail won't be taken into account. Please do not double your online application with an email.
call for applications for FESTIVE VENUES
The festival entrusts certain sites to groups of companies or cultural associations in order to turn them into festive venues. These places offer a continuous programme and a scenographic, musical and festive atmosphere. The spaces can be circus big tops or closed spaces such as schoolyards.
• Prospective companies in the program of the festive venues must imperatively in parallel apply to the Sélection Off, by mentioning their affiliation with the social venue through which they are applying.
