Chalon dans la rue is a venue for creative projects and artist residencies open to artists working in public spaces or in venues not typically used for artistic performances.
Residencies are hosted at the Abattoir site or may take place off-site, in public spaces. Depending on identified needs, we provide: construction and fabrication workshops, rehearsal spaces, as well as lodging and dining facilities, communication support, etc.
Residencies or periods of access may include opportunities for meetings and/or presentations for the public and professionals.

Residencies (Co-production)
Each year, the National Center supports 10 to 15 artistic projects that it co-produces and hosts.
The selected projects share a common focus on engaging the public space through unique artistic approaches. The nature of the residencies varies depending on the project’s stage of development.
These may include writing residencies, production residencies, immersion in the city for site-specific projects, or presentation as part of a first public performance.

Assignments (Logistical Support)
Chalon dans la rue supports local cultural, artistic, and community activities by making its facilities available. The spaces offered depend on demand and the nature of the project. See below for a virtual tour of the various spaces. The availability of the venues depends on space availability on the requested dates and does not include the loan of equipment.
Who is it for?
Staffing agencies
The focus is on supporting creative companies working in public spaces that are based in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and need space to work, rehearse, build, and write. In some cases, accommodation may be available. The site also welcomes local organizations for various projects, such as exhibitions, participatory workshops, meetings, one-time events, and more.
