I’m growing up and waiting to feel it—that moment when the existential crises, the constant self-doubt, the fears… all settle down. That moment of stability, that sensible person we’re supposed to become as we grow into adults. I’m growing up and I’m waiting, but it doesn’t come. So I wonder if this is normal? If I have a problem? If I’m just a failure and incapable of making it happen? Being an adult is about that little voice that’s always there to tell us that, no matter what we do, we’ll never measure up. Adulthood is also an opportunity to compare my perspective with that of others and examine how we all cope with this evolution that we’re told is “natural” but is anything but natural. Some will surely say it’s a kind of free therapy. Come to think of it, that’s not entirely wrong!

I'm growing up and waiting to experience that moment when the existential crises subside, the constant questioning, the doubts, the fears... that moment of stability, that reasonable being we're supposed to become as adults. I'm growing up and waiting, but it's not coming. So I wonder if that's normal? If there's something wrong with me? If I'm just useless and incapable of succeeding? "Adulte" speaks to that little voice that’s always there to tell us that, no matter what we do, we’ll never measure up. "Adulte" is also an opportunity to compare my perspective with others’ and examine how we all cope with this evolution that we’re told is “natural” but which is anything but. Some will surely say it’s a kind of free therapy. Come to think of it, they’re not entirely wrong!
