Stéphane comes from the world of sound and listening, Nicolas from theater; one explores sensation, the other dramaturgy; one gives form to spaces, the other works with words in space. From this meeting arises a shared desire: to blend their languages to create an experience. How can we tell a story without imposing a narrative? How does our environment influence the way we perceive, feel, and think? How can words stimulate the senses and enhance an experience? With reality as their score and words as their instruments, Stéphane and Nicolas break down disciplinary barriers and experiment with new forms of storytelling, at the intersection of a walking performance and a lived experience. During Chalon dans la rue, they will share their journey, the questions driving their research, and the initial ideas taking shape: a textual, auditory, and experiential logbook through which the audience will be invited to follow the traces or clues left by a person, an absent presence. Somewhere between audio fiction and an investigation, audience members become actors and actresses of their own perception, invited to listen to and observe their surroundings to move the story forward.

Stéphane comes from the world of sound and listening, Nicolas from the world of theater. One explores sensation, the other dramaturgy; one brings spaces to life, the other refines words within space. From this meeting emerged a shared desire: to merge their respective languages to create a new experience. How can one tell a story without imposing a narrative? How does our environment influence the way we perceive, experience, and think about things? How can words awaken the senses and enrich our experience? Using today’s world as their score and words as their instruments, Stéphane and Nicolas blur the boundaries between disciplines and experiment with new narrative forms that inhabit the space between site-specific performance and lived experience. During Chalon dans la rue, the duo will share their journey, the questions that shape their research, and the initial explorations that emerged: a roadmap combining text, sound, and lived experience that invites the audience to follow the trail, the clues left by another who is present in their very absence. Through aural storytelling and exploration, the spectators become agents of their own perception, invited to listen to and observe their environment to advance through the story.
