A gentle immersion into the world of lullabies, BERCER LE TEMPS invites you on a journey aboard a rocking chair. Set in the heart of the city—in a park, a square, or a corner of a pedestrian street—this interactive installation welcomes you into a suspended space-time that stands in stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. With your feet in the grass, swaying to the rhythm, listen to its whispers and let yourself be carried away by the echoes of childhood through songs from here and elsewhere, with over 2,700 lullabies in 106 languages. The mobile recording studio, housed in an old Westfalia van, opens its doors to anyone who wishes to share a musical memory and leave their own mark. This revives the intimate, collective, and unifying legacy of the oral tradition of lullabies.

A haven of poetic tranquility, BERCER LE TEMPS / LULLING TIME immerses passersby in a world of lullabies. A dozen rocking chairs placed in a park, a square, or a busy street corner whisper melodies collected since the project’s inception in 2016—a collection of more than 2,700 lullabies in over 106 languages recorded by participants in a mobile studio on site. Their childhood memories feed the living archive that makes the chairs of this participatory installation sing. Open your ears, close your eyes, and let yourself be carried away on a gentle journey aboard a rocking chair!
