A clownish solo performance by Andrea Menozzi that makes us question the fragility of the line between madness and the absurdity of social norms. Boxed in, crushed, constrained by what is expected of us—by what is acceptable, reasonable, and reassuring—we all risk losing ourselves, or losing others and the world. The individual is increasingly isolated, standardized, and conditioned, so abstraction can become a choice of great wisdom. Each of us has encountered, on a street corner or sitting at a bar counter, a being outside the norm who, with an incomprehensible phrase, has illuminated us with a great truth or pointed out the poetry of a moment. Brusco is that character who unsettles and charms us, the one who shakes us up when we cling to our certainties. He opens a breach for us into a universe where snow falls in summer thanks to a small flame.

A solo clown performance that explores the fine line between madness and social norms. Constrained and defined by what is expected of us—by what is acceptable and reasonable—we all risk losing ourselves, others, or the world. As individuals become increasingly isolated, normalized, and conditioned, abstraction can be a wise choice. Each of us has met, on a street corner or sitting at a bar, someone outside the norm, who, through a dark remark, has enlightened us or pointed out the poetry of a moment. “Brusco” is that character who unsettles and charms us, the one who shakes us up when we’re fixated on our convictions. He opens a window for us onto a universe where snow falls in summer thanks to a matchstick.
