A team of scientists is studying a strange and potentially dangerous living substance: the Other Thing. To understand it, these eight silent and endearing characters conduct highly methodical and secure research, but following an unprecedented encounter between the Other Thing and one of them, they are thrown into turmoil, for the first time the Other Thing has blossomed. Between collective decisions and personal initiatives, adherence to protocol and moments of panic, the team struggles to manage this situation that upends and confronts them, in a major derailment that alters their view of the Other Thing and their own research. This collective transition toward breaking free from protocol and diving into the unknown unfolds through images and music in a sort of living cartoon, set against a backdrop of musical comedy and scientific experiments.
