Alone on stage, she creates her own little world. She draws on the little girl from her childhood to coax a few words out of her. A world somewhere between a bedroom and a clearing, a mask of a predatory wild boar. It speaks of a 14-year silence. Of everything that was never meant to be said. It also speaks of the joy of finally being able to live in the present.

Through tightrope walking, knife throwing, a child clown, and an electric guitar, she tells her story in fragments: her adolescence, punctuated by moments of joy and dark periods caused by sexual abuse, the trial, and adulthood. She uses the circus as a way to “simply” find the words to express herself.

Marion Coulomb tackles a difficult, serious, and sensitive subject without ever offending, keeping the circus at the heart of the performance. It’s a success, directed by Pépita Car. Heartbreaking!
