Politicians are desperately trying to step down from power so they can focus on their community gardens, while chickadees are entering politics by throwing Molotov cocktails; a riot police officer on the verge of burnout opens up to a team of journalists who, year in and year out, are trying to make sense of what’s happening. Judging by the numerous protests springing up everywhere, a (r)evolution is underway. The question remains: where will it lead? Imagine a world where the nature/culture dichotomy has been abolished and where the prevailing mindset leans toward animism. It is this type of situation that author Alessandro Pignocchi depicts in his graphic novels—“just to make my friends laugh,” he says, and also “because it feels good to imagine stories where the changes we’d like to see in the world actually happen.”

Politicians are desperately trying to relinquish power so they can focus on their community gardens, while tits (the birds) enter politics throwing Molotov cocktails; a riot police officer on the verge of burnout turns himself in to a team of journalists who, for better or worse, are trying to make sense of what’s happening. If the many demonstrations springing up everywhere are any indication, a (r)evolution is underway. The only question is what it will lead to. Imagine a world where the opposition between nature and culture has been abolished, and where dominant ways of thinking lean toward animism. These are the kinds of situations that Alessandro Pignocchi depicts in his graphic novels—‘just to make my friends laugh,’ as he puts it, but also ‘because it feels good to imagine fictions where the changes we’d like to see in the world actually happen.’
