*Les Planètes* by the collective La Ville en Feu is a reimagining of Gustav Holst’s symphonic poem of the same name, performed through dance, instrumental music, and a cappella singing. With ten performers, we venture into the work to bring it to life for the public to see and hear in the public space. This performance takes place at night, in close connection with the audience and the environment around us, filled with cosmic and interstellar imagery. One could imagine the show as a journey of explorers to follow to the sound of the musical score. We set out together from Earth on a journey through the solar system—and through Holst’s symphony—from Mars to Neptune.

With a cast of ten performers, we embark on this work to bring it to life—visually and sonically—in public spaces. This nighttime performance unfolds in close connection with the audience and the environment in which it takes place, all infused with cosmic and interstellar imagery. The piece can be imagined as a journey led by explorers, guided by the musical score. Together, we set off from Earth on a voyage through the solar system—and through Holst’s symphony—from Mars to Neptune.
