In a rat-infested suburb, residents—all night shift workers—gather after one of their children has been bitten. The image of this child, a rat dangling from his bloodied hand, lingers in everyone’s minds. What can be done? A nursing assistant, a cleaning lady, a parking lot attendant, a party-going night owl, and a rat expert frantically try to find a solution. But from the initial question—how to eradicate the rats that have invaded us—emerges a collective reflection on the responsibility of those in power, their own invisibility in the eyes of decision-makers, and on the rats themselves: who are truly the pests to whom? From a neighborhood meeting to a procession of residents ready to make themselves visible, Nuisibles invites the audience to join in an act of collective power.

Yet, from the very first question—“How do we eradicate the invading rats?”—unfolds a collective reflection on the responsibility of those in power, on the residents’ own sense of invisibility in the eyes of decision-makers, and on the rats themselves: who is the real nuisance to whom? From a neighborhood meeting to a public procession of residents ready to make themselves seen, *Nuisibles* invites the audience to join in a demonstration of collective power.
