Music echoes in the distance from deep within a building. Three dancers appear out of nowhere, their bodies gradually taking the music on. The dance takes hold, the volume rises. Discs of all sizes gradually flood the dance floor. We didn’t see it coming, but a joyful chaos is taking shape. And little by little, everything transforms. The dancers metamorphose; nothing is tangible anymore. All that remains are bodies that are now merely the allegory of a celebration, bodies swallowed up by the party. VOLUME 54, an all-terrain dance performance that speaks of a party… Or rather, of the body in celebration. A moment suspended in time that casts a sensitive gaze upon those for whom it is a necessity. The mind losing its footing. The dance step taking over. The party as an expression of urgency. The party anywhere, and especially where you least expect it.
