The Eyes of the River (working title)
March 30–April 5, 2026
Artistic genre: Theatrical lecture
Year created: 2027
*The Eyes of the River* (working title) is an archaeological and eco-poetic performance in which a speaker unveils, one by one, artifacts discovered in the river near the venue where the show is taking place, and offers an interpretation of them. Drawing on the heritage of the city where we are and its waterway, the presentation sometimes takes on the form of a fictional narrative. We learn surprising things about our past, about the history of the domestication of rivers and the living beings around them, and we are invited to ask ourselves what deserves to be remembered and what should be allowed to fade away.
Purpose of the residency: During this residency, together with the set and prop designer, we will design some of the artifact-like objects that will serve as props for the play.
