Women shape the land

February 12–19, 2023

Artistic genre:Circus
Year the show was created: 2023

An apparatus featuring a 3-meter-long wire stretched across six sides, suspended 2 meters above the ground and capable of central rotation, serves as a framework to which dyed threads are attached. A quintet of women—four acrobats and a musician—performs on this apparatus. Their bodies tell us of connection, sisterhood, and kindness, as well as the elements that make up a landscape: earth, plants, animals, and minerals. In turn, the acrobats become Penelope, Medusa, Circe, and Penthesilea: these women who populate the stories in which only Ulysses is the hero. They share their experiences and weave their own stories from their own perspectives.

Goals of the residency: A period dedicated to continuing the writing of the show. Finalizing the sequences.
