*Fantôme* is a film-concert for public spaces. Presented as a poetic visual and auditory adventure, it tells the 60-minute story of a child named Fantôme who, unwittingly, brings about the collapse of a totalitarian regime.
Accessible to all audiences, it once again employs the narrative principle of animation in conjunction with music, and continues to explore unique mechanical devices, thus building on Arthur Delaval’s previous show, Avion Papier, a traveling film-concert in a caravan for 14 people.
The notable difference in this new creation is the change in scale: Fantôme will not unfold in the intimacy of a caravan, but takes on the challenge of immersing 1,000 people in a powerful, dreamlike experience within a vast, open space.

The Collectif La Méandre is back at the Abattoir with another project, this time led by Arthur Delaval. *Fantôme* tells the story of a child wandering through the heart of a popular uprising. It distorts reality in order to better accept it. The narrative structure remains the same as in “Avion Papier,” Arthur’s previous show. The story is told through an animated sequence, and the audience finds itself immersed in a world that is dreamlike, fragile, and immersive. A musician and sound tinkerer ensures the story unfolds smoothly; he is the one who narrates it. Only this time, Arthur and his team are taking on the challenge of moving out of the trailer that housed “Avion Papier” and setting up in a public space for an audience of 500 people, if not more. After working at the table—writing the script and animating the cartoon—the team begins its first residency dedicated to building the set."FANTÔME" - VIDEO BY FRED LAGRANGE
