The starting point
February 13–25, 2023
March 20–26, 2023
Artistic genre: Visual and immersive performance
Year the performance was created: 2023
In the beginning, there is a signal. Someone speaks, throwing something out into the air. The starting point is the vast, shimmering vision of this message as it falls back down to us (and you). Perhaps we’ll try together to piece it all together. With some effort, we’ll surely get somewhere. Something very personal, which we will have interpreted through our own vision, our own perspective, our own starting point. While the fantasy of collective intelligence burns within us, the starting point focuses on the meandering nature of translation. On the path we travel. On language that is not enough. On this space of latency that separates us from one another. Here, we will clearly attempt to form a group based on our misunderstandings and our differences. At the starting point, there will be an audience encountering a visual universe, an immersive experience to share, and images to traverse. Something that seeps in, to take with you and finish later, in the warmth (since we’re not sure we’ll have time to say it all).
