“Even before I knew what it was, I knew I had something to say”
Margot was born on her 25th birthday.
She is here, before you, to tell her story.
She traverses the city, just as she traverses her memory: from childhood to the present, from what breaks us to what builds us up.
From intense struggles to radiant joys.
Above all, Margot is here to tell you something.
To give voice to the muffled words dancing inside her.
To be heard.
Jetuil is a performance that chronicles the journey toward healing of a person who was a victim of childhood incest. It is a personal story—that of Margot—but one that resonates with the experience of an entire society, where 1 in 10 adults reports having been a victim of childhood sexual abuse. Margot shares her story, punctuated by stages and mysteries she struggles to unravel. Until she is reborn on her 25th birthday. The day she remembers.
